Let's start with the Standings.
Okay, so I'm playing LAP - who's in first place with a 49.7 average. Well my
average (I'm ERK) is 48.5. But LAP's 11-4-1, while I'm only 8-8. Well let's
see why.
Player Scores
Oh, well I forfeited the first four matches. I guess that makes a difference.
But then week 5 I had a 46, LAP had a 59. Then the next week I had a 54, and
LAP had a 47. Looks like we go back and forth. Let's take a closer look.
Player Totals
Keeping in mind that I did forfeit the first four weeks - it still looks like my
Fairways and Greens are better over the entire season. Looks like I've got a better
average on the Par 3's and Par 4's, but LAP's got a better Par 5 average. This looks
like an area I should pay attention to during the match! Well let's look at the last
few weeks and see if there are any trends.
Weekly Breakdown
Looking at the last couple of weeks, it looks like LAP has been improving (50-45-46),
where I haven't (47-49-52). And look at LAP's last putting average - 1.88!
Looks like I need to go to the putting green and practice a little. LAP looks
slightly better on Fairways, Greens, and Penalty Strokes in the last few weeks, too!
Maybe I'll have to use the three-wood off of the tee a few more times. Let's
take a look at the last couple of scorecards.
Score Cards
A 10 on the second hole?? Well you drop that to a 7 and you've broken 50! I
see two little red Penalty Stroke symbols in the lower right. Not one PS, but
TWO! Then follow with three double-bogey's, another double bogey on the other Par 3,
and finish with a triple! Boy where do the strokes go? So I really have to
hunker down and play smart if I want to win against LAP. Well, let's end this on a
good note by checking my statistical ranking.
Rankings
Not bad. Second in averages, though my putting (8th) could be better.
Greens and Fairways are pretty high, and I get my share of Pars, while keeping the Triples
down. Looks like I could use turning a few Doubles into Bogeys.
All in all, I'd be sitting better if I hadn't taken four forfeits early in the season!
That will teach me to play spring hockey and break my arm, eh?
